Doechii has recently made a splash on the music scene, stealing the hearts of many with her intricate performances, Grammy-winning songs, and dedication to her face tape. So when she recently stepped on stage with a surprising accessory, it felt completely in line with her brand.
On Saturday, February 23, Doechii was a surprise guest during Tyler, the Creator’s last night of his six-night residency in Los Angeles. The rapper is currently in the midst of his Chromakopia World Tour and brought out Doechii at LA’s Crypto.com Arena to perform their song “Balloon” off of Tyler’s most recent album.
Fan footage from the evening showed Doechii coming onto the stage to an excited crowd as the pair began performing their song. While Doechii’s electric performance certainly made waves, it was her outfit that caught our attention.
Doechii looked like an athlete straight out of the 1920s with her vintage-styled cropped sweater, baggy cargo pants, destroyed lace-up high-top sneakers, and a winter hat with ear flaps. But it was the worn-in boxing gloves that Doechii kept on during her performance that proved her style is unlike any other.
The rapper shared multiple photos of her outfit on Instagram on Sunday, showing off every detail of her look, along with photos from her time on stage with Tyler, the Creator. In one picture, Doechii can be seen impressively holding the mic with her huge boxing gloves.
“i exist at the same time as @feliciathegoat 😭,” Doechii wrote in the caption. “ty Tyler keep killing it on tour.”

Tyler, the Creator also praised Doechii on stage, saying to the crowd, “I’m so happy she exists.”
“We have to keep supporting everything she does… Keep supporting art. We need that to exist in the midst of all this other sh*t,” he continued. The rapper supported Doechii via Instagram earlier this month when she took home her first Grammy in the Best Rap Album category for her mixtape Alligator Bites Never Heal with a simple heart emoji.
