Frugal People Stock Up Before Trump’s Tariffs Hit

“I’m not someone who eats a ton of imported foods, but I honestly worry a lot about domestic foods as well due to the agricultural work that is done by largely undocumented immigrants. I will be stocking up on chicken breasts, drumsticks, and thighs when I next go to Costco or see any on sale to build a buffer in my deep freezer. I’ll also buy a 20lb bag of rice, continue to buy dry beans and lentils, chicken and beef bullion cubes, pasta, canned tomatoes, soups, frozen veggies and fruit, canned veggies and fruit, etc. Make sure to always rotate your stock so you’re eating the oldest stuff first.”

“My biggest recommendation is to stock up on things you know you will eat. It does no good to stock up on cheap things that you won’t be able to stand when the time comes to eat it.”
